The short version: it is free, it is provided as-is, and you are responsible for what you do with it.
BBSDial.com is a web terminal that dials bulletin board systems (BBSes) run by other people. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The service
BBSDial.com is offered free of charge, with no account and nothing to sign up for. It may change, be unavailable, or stop altogether at any time, without notice.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use BBSDial.com to:
- break the law, or the rules of any board you dial;
- attack, probe, scan or flood any system, including this one;
- send or receive material you have no right to share, or that is malware;
- deliberately overload the service or get around its limits.
Calls that break these terms may be ended, and access may be blocked.
Boards you dial
Every BBS is somebody else's system with its own rules and its own content. We do not run, control or check them, and we are not responsible for anything on them, or for anything you post, upload or download there. Files pass through this server without being stored.
Security Notice:
BBSDial.com is an insecure, unencrypted telnet proxy. Any transmitted data, including passwords, credentials, and sensitive information, may be intercepted by third parties. By proceeding, you acknowledge these risks and agree that BBSDial.com assumes no liability for intercepted data or security breaches.
Optional Google sync
If you turn on sync, your favorites and settings are kept in a private folder in your own Google Drive. Your use of Google is also covered by Google's own terms. You can stop at any time by signing out and removing this application from your Google account. How this works, and what we do and do not see, is described in the privacy policy.
No warranty
BBSDial.com is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it, including lost or corrupted files, settings or favorites. Do not rely on this site as the only copy of anything you value.
Software
The BBSDial.com software is open source and distributed under its own licence (GPL-3.0-or-later). These terms cover use of this website, not the software licence.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
