What BBSDial.com knows about you, which is not much.

BBSDial.com is a terminal that dials bulletin board systems. You do not need an account to use it, and there is nothing to sign up for.

Your settings and favorites

By default these are stored only in your own web browser, on your own device. They are never sent to this server. Clearing your browser's site data removes them, and nobody else — including us — has a copy.

Optional Google sync

If this site offers a sync control and you choose to use it, your favorites and settings are written to a private folder inside your own Google Drive that only this application can open. You will not see it among your files, and no other application can read it.

The short-lived access key Google issues for this (it expires within an hour) is kept in your browser tab until it expires, so reloading the page does not ask Google again. It is never sent to this server and is gone when the tab closes.

The single permission requested is access to that one hidden application folder. It does not allow reading or changing any other file in your Google Drive.

Nothing is sent to Google unless you press the control — the sign-in code is not even loaded until then, so if you never use this feature, Google is not contacted on this site's behalf at all.

To delete it: sign out and then remove this application in your Google account's security settings, which deletes the folder and everything in it. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete, and no request you need to send us.

Server logs

Like almost every web server, this one keeps operational logs. They record your IP address, the time, which board was dialled, how long the call lasted and how many bytes crossed it. They are used to run the service — to see that it is working, to find faults, and to deal with abuse.

They are not used to build a profile of you, are not combined with anything else, and are not sold or shared. This site shows no advertising and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

Boards you dial

A BBS is somebody else's computer. When you dial one, this server connects to it on your behalf and passes what you type straight through. What you do on a board is between you and that board — whatever you post there, and whatever it records about you, is covered by its rules and not by this page. Files you send or receive pass through this server without being stored.

By proceeding, you acknowledge these risks and agree that BBSDial.com assumes no liability for intercepted data or security breaches.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking cookies and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Your settings use your browser's own local storage, which never leaves your device.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If what this page describes ever changes, this page changes with it.
